Aqua blue … not played out, says Martha! She says it is absolutely fresh and desirable when you hitch it up with apple green.
Well, I must admit that Martha has me here. This combo is crisp and modern and fun and you still! get! to use aqua! You can even go semi-Tiffany and look totally hep.
A concern with aqua-centered brights like this is how to avoid a beach wedding — that is, if you don’t happen to be a beach bride. The glory is, with just a little tweakage, you’ve got a wedding that’s equally at home in a tent, garden or atrium and isn’t remotely beachy.

The non-beachy tweakage: try steering mainly clear of the hydrangeas — a few as fillers, that’s okay. Instead, put the focus on more exotic blooms: casablanca lilies or orchids are perfect. (I know, orchids are often beachy. But trust me, here they’re glam). Then tuck in a few peacock feathers, nothing too heavy. And chandeliers. A little rhinestone in the bouquet, Alençon lace in the gown. A few natural touches, like golden pears and ribbon. Go a bit exotic with the cake: modernized paisleys are so incredibly useful for glamming up a wedding.
Finally, make this affair a little richer by letting other pops of color sneak into the sidelines: a dash of cobalt or navy blue to ground things, a pinch of pink or peach to warm things up.
And voila, you’ve got yourself a gorgeous aqua and green wedding that’s firmly at home on land.

This is my wedding color theme. I absolutely love it. We’re getting married in a garden setting and i have to completely disagree with the No Hydras suggestion. I think hydras are not remotely beach and work flawlessly with a garden or atrium set wedding. Up to the eye of the beholder I guess. Thanks for the beautiful pics.
I have looked all over for these colors together!! I am so glad that someone else thinks that these are great wedding colors. I was beginning to think I was losing my mind.
Amy did you get a response regarding the blue dress with the green bow?
