I am posting a few boards I have sadly lost the credits for. Of all those boards, this is my favorite and the one I think most deserves to see the light of day, despite the sad lack of pointers as to where these photos came from. As always, if you recognize any (particularly if they’re yours), please just yell …
We’ve all seen plenty of Art Deco-influenced nostalgia for the 20s and 30s … it really speaks to most of us right now, with a sort of “party like it’s 1935″ vibe that’s so relatable. Sepia tones and finger waves, Chanel #5 and chandelier beads, pearls and clip-on earrings … a glorious mix you could style up today, and lose yourself in its glamor without tripping into “costumey.”
And, it gives off all the sparkle of the holiday season while drawing on a palette that’s possibly even richer and more come-hither than the pretty powder blue and white we’ve all seen and loved. In short, this is elegance in a form that never went out of style. Or so I feel. What think you?
